What are bee nucs
The bee cores consist of a large group of worker bees , the queen bee and frames.
The frames are special wooden constructions inside the hive that the bees will fill.
Usually the most common format by which the product is sold is on 5 frames. The latter are composed of:
- 3 frames of capped brood at 70% (at least);
- 2 frames with honey supplies .
In nuclei they contain enough worker bees to completely cover all five honeycombs on both sides.
The main difference with bee packs is that the nuclei have frames and therefore also the brood and honey. The bee packs, on the other hand, are artificial "naked" swarms made up of many young workers (with or without a queen) and without frames.
What are nucs for in beekeeping?
bee cores are a very useful tool for the creation of new colonies. The cores are also used to reinforce hives that have weakened.
There are so many reasons why a swarm gets weaker. The main reasons are almost always related to swarming, pollution or due to diseases and infestations by parasites.

To create new colonies it is advisable to wait for the birth of the drones and proceed only after the formation of the queen bees and royal cells.
