Without pollination, in fact, the flowers would stop giving life to new shoots and with the absence of the latter the planet would be poor and arid and sooner or later the earth would stop producing any type of nourishment. Maintaining a healthy ecosystem is vital for the survival of the Earth since in the food chain, stealing a source of nutrition from one species would consequently mean eliminating food sources for all the others.

In addition to being pollinating insects, bees also provide valuable products appreciated by man including: honey, pollen, royal jelly, wax, propolis, which have always been used as products with high nutritional and beneficial properties for our body.

It is also important to highlight that most plants of agricultural interest require pollinating insects for pollination. Due to some choices of modern agriculture such as monoculture, the elimination of hedges and the use of pesticides, as well as the alteration and fragmentation of natural areas, the environment has become inhospitable for most pollinating insects.

The decline in the presence of wild pollinators has meant that the importance of Apis mellifera has become fundamental for some crops.
