Casapi is the Solidarity Agricultural Cooperative founded by the most important and historic beekeeping companies in Puglia. Around them, thanks to the social inclusion project "Hand in Hand," many smaller producers have been guided and integrated into a common production structure. This initiative combines the experience and expertise of the larger producers with the ambition and growth potential of the smaller ones. It is a project of shared knowledge and expertise that enables those who otherwise would not have had the opportunity to take part in an important enterprise, fostering their social and economic growth, lifting them from the margins, and elevating them to key contributors. Casapi Cooperative is therefore not merely "social aid" but a practical effort focused on training and job initiation within a solidarity-driven community framework, aimed at creating the best conditions for professional and economic growth for all members, with a significant positive impact on the region and its communities.
Furthermore, continuing its commitment to social responsibility, Casapi is the promoter of the project for the recovery and preservation of the local ecotype of the Ligurian honeybee, supporting territorial biodiversity.
Today, the Cooperative manages a total of 7,000 hives in production, all belonging to its members. It produces some of the finest traditional honeys of the region, using both certified organic and conventional methods. Additionally, it offers fresh ivy pollen, royal jelly, and propolis, all adhering to its internal regulations that certify production systems and quality, as well as the "ICEA" organic standard.
Puglia is our homeland. Here we live and work—a region rich in landscapes shaped by nature and time, steeped in history and traditions, where beekeeping represents one of the highest expressions of cultural heritage. It was the Greeks who introduced the art of beekeeping to central Puglia, particularly in the Taranto area, passing down knowledge and traditions that form the foundation of modern Puglian apiculture. Today, unlike in the past, we can differentiate our honeys by botanical origin, thanks to the succession of blooms such as rosemary, almond, cherry, citrus, thyme, and eucalyptus, allowing us to produce unique and typical monofloral varieties of our region. All our honeys are jarred without undergoing any heat treatment, preserving their solid, non-liquid form.
